About Us

What makes us different

Sunol Hills is the only mental health treatment organization in Northern California that is founded and operated by three highly-respected, board-certified psychiatrists. Doctors Duvvuri, Athwal, and Fooks have channeled their decades of experience and passion for mental health into creating healing spaces for people living with psychiatric disorders. This partnership established the foundation of unparalleled expertise and dedication upon which the organization was built. The doctors make it a priority to meet and communicate with clients, their families, and other staff regularly in order to provide the best possible care for the people we treat. Because of this, Sunol Hills is able to incorporate NG tube feeding when necessary.

Exceptional Staff

Our team of clinicians and dedicated professionals has cultivated over 30 years of experience in the treatment of eating disorders. They have continuously proven their expertise and passion for working with this population, and have helped countless clients over the years to take charge of their healing. Our staff genuinely care about the wellbeing of our clients, and are ready to use their skills to help you and your loved ones through the challenges of recovery.

High-Quality, Specialized Care

We are licensed with the California Department of Public Health. Our clinicians always remain up-to-date on the latest research and developments in the field to ensure that clients receive the highest quality of care possible.

A Homelike Setting

Unlike many programs held in a psychiatric unit or hospital-like setting, all Sunol Hills facilities are housed in a beautiful family home located in a residential neighborhood. We recognize that residential treatment can be intimidating for many clients, so we have taken every measure to ensure that the program space is welcoming, peaceful, and comfortable. We believe that our homelike setting offers clients the ability to feel more at ease during their stay. With an abundance of light, open spaces, and outdoor areas to enjoy, patients can find moments of peace even among the challenges of recovery.
