Coverage varies by plan. If we are not a participating provider with a patient’s insurance plan, we may be able to request a Single Case Agreement when appropriate. Our admissions team will walk you through the process and help you understand what to expect.
Length of stay varies by individual and is based on clinical needs, progress, and the recommended level of care. Our team will discuss what to expect and help you understand next steps throughout treatment.
Electronics policies vary depending on the program and level of care. Admissions will review what is allowed and when devices can be used.
Sunol Hills Fremont (Crisis Residential): Electronics are not permitted. Laptops may be allowed for schoolwork. Clients also have scheduled media breaks, which may include TV and video games.
We offer designated time for clients to complete schoolwork and homework during treatment. Schedules vary by program and day.
Group sizes vary by location and level of care. Sunol Hills programs are intentionally small and structured to support safety, individualized attention, and a strong therapeutic environment.
Rooming is based on safety, clinical needs, and availability. In most cases, clients share a room with another individual in treatment. Occasionally, a private room may be available.
Nutrition Questions
Yes. Dietary modifications, including vegetarian and vegan options, may be available. Our dietitian will consult with each client and care team to determine what is appropriate and will make recommendations to best support recovery.
Medical Questions
Yes. Clients meet with a psychiatrist (or psychiatric nurse practitioner) for a psychiatric evaluation within 72 hours of admission to our residential programs.
Yes. Our psychiatrist can assess medications and recommend adjustments at the residential level of care. If the client is a minor, medication changes require consent from a parent or caregiver. If you have questions about medications, you may request to speak with the psychiatrist.
What to Bring + Dress Code
Admissions will provide a packing list and review what is allowed based on your program. In general, we recommend bringing comfortable clothing, personal hygiene items, and any approved personal items that help you feel settled and supported.
There is no formal dress code. We recommend comfortable, modest clothing that allows you to participate in treatment activities. For safety, some items may be limited depending on the program.
